Why Should You Consider A New Boiler?

If your old trusty boiler is on it’s way out, it might be time to get a new boiler. We appreciate that they’re a hefty investment, but we think there are a couple of benefits that make a new boiler worthwhile!

Improved boiler efficiencies

This is the benefit that stands out above the rest, hence why it’s at the top of our list. Each boiler that is sold in the UK is graded by the Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers Scheme, where each boiler is graded from A-G. A-rated boilers have 90%+ efficiency, whilst G-rated boilers have 70%- efficiency, meaning if you upgrade from an old G-rated boiler to a new A-rated boiler, for every pound that you spend, you could save 20p, and that’s a minimum!

That might not sound like a lot initially, but when that all adds up at the end of the year, that’s a huge saving!

Less boiler downtime

New boilers are much less likely to breakdown, that’s obvious. However, if you’re existing boiler is constantly in need of a repair or you’re concerned that it’s no longer performing as well as it should be, why not take advantage of a new boiler and avoid the expensive repair costs. If you try and cling onto the old boiler, you might end up saving the same amount on boiler repairs as you would with a new boiler.

New boiler guarantee

All new boilers come with a new guarantee, giving you fantastic peace of mind that should anything ever go wrong, you’re completely covered! Some manufacture guarantees last for two years, some last for five years, some last for ten; it just depends on your installer and the boiler you’ve chosen. Here at Harvey’s Heating Ltd., we’re Vaillant accredited, meaning we can offer an 8-year guarantee on selected boilers.

Of course, the guarantee is dependent on an annual boiler service, but that’s beneficial in it’s own right, as we uncovered in last weeks post. You can take a read of that here.

Smaller and quieter boilers

Modern boilers are much smaller than older boilers, especially newer combination boilers, which do not need large tanks upstairs or in the loft, meaning you can make room for the other, more important things in life. Likewise, modern boilers are also quieter, especially quieter than boilers that are on the verge of a breakdown, where noises might range from loud bangs to strange kettling noises. Upgrade your boiler today and take advantage.
